Match Reports

Brendon Bees B   0   Mossley B 1 Sat 6th Sept  2008

A fantastic start by the B team, with good performances from all especially the Man of Match winner Declan Dunn who was fantastic in defence reading the game very well, along with Captain for the day Ben McCarthy who had a quiet day compared with other games he's played in the past.

Other good contributions from the rest of the team  with Sam Gallacher playing very well in goal with two or three excellent saves, some good battling from Hugo up front, and new boy James Worsley battling to the finish. Joe Davies and Jordan Hamer along with Daniel Berry ran  their little legs off  throughout the game and Daryus played very well down the left hand side teasing their defence with his runs.

Brendon Bees A   3   Mossley A   0

What a game this was, after the B team playing so well how could we better that, well we did from start to finish. We started really well and put Mossley under pressure immediately with an excellent free kick from Lewis Parker Hughes who hit a fantastic shot straight into the Mossley goal.

We worked very well with Liam, Sam, Lewis and Cian putting the opposition under fantastic pressure and it wasn't too long before Cian opened his tally for the season with a tap in from a goal mouth
struggle.

George and Jack were an impressive duo at the back and worked well together especially with Captain James in goal behind them playing so well as usual.

Towards the end of the game we were in complete control of the game and whenever we made substitutes the game remained in our control with Josh Faulkner continuing the fine work and to cap it all off little Jake Rhodes who had nipped at Mossleys ankles throughout the game, got a break away and passed the ball into the goal area where Liam Barry cooly "with his right foot" slotted the ball home.

Man of the Match went deservedly to Lewis Parker Hughes, well done Lewis keep it up.

Hough End A  5  Brendon Bees A  0 Sat 3th Sept 2008

A dissappointing performance from the A team, they lacked pace and determination which was clearly shown last week, but credit to Hough End they were very organised and passed the ball around really well and are certainly potential league winners this season. Man of the match was awarded to James Oatt in goal who saved us many times which kept the score down . Well done James.

Hough End B  2   Brendon B   0

The  B Team really did battle today and deseved a little more from the game yet it wasn't to be, but the team battled really hard and showed lots of promise for the next games. Well done to sam Pratt who played his heart out in midfield earning him the Man of the Match award.

Brendon B  0   Fletcher Moss B  5   Sat 20th Sept 2008

Another dissapointing game, yet again against excellent opposition, Fletcher Moss were well organised and out run and outplayed us, something I've come to accept over the years as a Manager so I believe the boys did quite well considering who we played. Another outstanding display from Declan Dunn who again played his heart out in defence and deservedly was awarded the Man of the Match award, twice in the last three games, well done Declan.

Brendon A   0   Fletcher Moss A   7

Again I wasn't surprised about the defeat, and again Fletcher ran us ragged, we never really bothered their goal keeper and can only hope the boys learnt from this defeat. Sam Pratt was solid at the back but couldn't prevent this heavy loss on his own, but this earnt him the Man of the Match award also his second out of three matches.

Denton  A  7  Brendon Bees B  0  Sat 27th Sept 2008

Denton made the cock up that really cheeses me off, the rule book states that the game should start B team against B team, I found out during the second game that Denton had put their A team out in error, this didn't help at all, not really fair on the boy's, okay we got beat but if the teams had been more equal then maybe it wouldn't have been such a hifgh score. Man of the match again went to Sam Pratt for another excellent performance.

Denton Youth B  1  Brendon Bees A   0

Due to the cock up made by Denton the A team had to play Denton's B team, and they really played their hearts out, excellent play from all departments especially from Jake Rhodes who was awarded the Man of the Match trophy.

Clayton  B  3  Brendon Bees B   6  Sat 4th Oct  2008

An improvement on last week but I believe the team can play much much better, the opposition were weak but we were unable to punish them like we should have done. Excellent performance from James Worsley who put away 4 well taken goals with 1 from Ben McCarthy and the other from Hugo Booth Man of the Match was given to James Worsley for his fantastic outing.

Clayton A 0  Brendon Bees A   4

Another quite good performance but I know this team can play much better, some good individual performances especially from Daryus Campbell who played his heart out winning this weeks Man of the Match. Goals came from Lewis Parker Hughes 3 and Liam Barry 1.

Brendon Bees B  6  Clayton  B  0   Sat 11th Oct 2008 Cup

Excellent performance this week played good football and could have won by a bigger score. There were good performances by all players in particular Josh Faulkner who netted a hat trick and got Man of the Man as well, other goal scorers Hugo Booth 1, James Worsley 1 and Ben McCarthy 1.

Brendon Bees A   4   Clayton Villa A   0

Well what can I said, we expected to win and we did comfortably with no serious problems. Again much improved from last week. Man of the match George Dyer for another excellent defensive display. Goal scorers Lewis Parker Hughes 2 Liam Barry 1 and an own goal rounded it off.

Waterloo  B   2   Brendon Bees B   2  Sat 18th Oct 2008

A good performance by the B Team this week played really well and were so unfortunate not to win this game, only some bad decisions by the referee kept Waterloo in the game at the end. Goals from James Worsley and Ben McCarthy gave us a point at the end. Another excellent performance from Sam Pratt earned him the Man of the Match award yet again, well done Sam.

Waterloo A  1  Brendon Bees A  1

Again we were unfortunate not to have come away with all the points, both teams played well but we played the better and again some dodgy decisions from the ref meant we had to share the points. Our only goal came from Lewis Parker Hughes yet again. Liam Barry was awarded the Man of Match after some tough battling up and down the wing, well done Liam.

Brendon Bees B  2   AFC Stanley B  2 Sat 25th Oct 2008

An excellent display from the B team, the boy's played their hearts out right up to the final whistle, it looks as though the fitness training is working for the boy's as they battled on and on until they nearly dropped. There were some good moves and alot more passing of the ball. Two fine goals, one from Man of match Josh Faulkner and the other from Hugo Booth. Well done to the whole team

Brendon Bees A  2  AFC Stanley  1

Another brilliant display this time from the A team, showing lots of comittment from start to finish, battling their way to a fantastic win with goals from Lewis Parker Hughes and one from an inspirational substitution that was made when Jordan Hamer came on for Jack and went and scored the winner. The Man of the match was given to Sam Gallacher for a really fantastic showing in goal with save after save. Again well done boy's.

Hough End B  7  Brendon Bees B  0  Sat 8th Nov 2008 Primary Cup Qtr Final

A poor display from the B team this week and I think the less said the better, never really performed throughout the game and I can only hope they never play this way again. Another quite good display from Sam Pratt in defence meant the score wasn't as high as it could have been.

Hough End A  3  Brendon Bees A  2

This was a very good display considering how the B team perfomed and helped
make the journey a little more worth it, with an excellent goal from Lewis Parker Hughes and one from Jake Rhodes keeping us in the game until the last few minutes. Another good display from Sam Gallacher earned him the Man of the Match award this week.

Mossley B   1   Brendon Bees B  2 Sat 15th Nov 2008

A much improved performance this week, their minds were on the task ahead, with solid battling performances from all player's this week, an inspiring performance from Man of the Match Josh Faulkner who netted both goals, a fine individual performance from Dan Berry and some good strong tackling from Declan, Sam,  James Worsley , Ben and Hugo with James Oatt keeping the Mossley strikers at bay.

Mossley  A 1   Brendon Bees A  3

Another excellent game played by the A team, it was almost end to end throughout the game but we managed to gain the advantage with three excellent goals, one from Lewis Parker Hughes and two from Cian O'Brien. Fine displays from Sam in goal, Liam and Daryus in midfield, Jack and George in defence and Jake Rhodes again providing the terrier type approach around the oppositions ankles, it always works. Well done to Man of match Cian who just pinched it from a couple of others.

Brendon B  v  Hough End B  Saturday 22nd Nov 2008
Brendon A  v  Hough End A

Details to follow

Fletcher Moss A   3   Brendon Bees A  2   Saturday 29th Nov 2008

Unfortunately due to several players being ill we only managed to put one full strength team out yet the team we played matched the best from Fletcher and we lost out by the single goal  in the end, well played by the team excellent goal from James Worsley with the other coming from Ben McCarthy scoring his fourth of the season.

Fletcher Moss B  2   Brendon Bees 0 (Forfeited Game) due to illness within team

West End Boys B   0   Brendon Bees B 2 Saturday 17th January 2009

At last back into the swing of it, our first game since early December, unfortunately we didn't play our best yet still came out worthy winners with two goals from Ben Macarthy and man of the match Daryus Campbell.

West End Boys A   1   Brendon Bees A   5

A great game of end to end football but the team played well and deserved to win comfortably at the end with Cian O'Brien in excellent form scoring four goals and Lewis Parker Hughes completing the impressive win. Cian O'Brien completed his game by being awarded the Man of the match award.

Brendon Bees B   5   Clayton Villa B  0 Saturday 24th January 2009

Another good result from the boys with two goals each from Ben Macarthy and Joshua Faulkner and the fifth from Hugo Booth capping off a good comfortable win, man of the match went to Declan Dunn for another strong display at the back

Brendon Bees A   3   Clayton Villa A   0

We won easily at the end with two goals from Lewis Parker Hughes and one from Liam Barry but we should have won by a bigger margin, another fantastic display by Jack Hawksworth earned him the man of the match ward.

Brendon Bees B  3  AFC Stanley  3  Saturday 31st January 2009

A fine performance from the B team matching AFC in every department up and down the pitch, we should have won the game but with a goal a piece from Sam Pratt, Ben McCarthy and Jordan Hamer earned us the draw.

Brendon Bees A  1   AFC Stanley  A  0

Not a great game by far but we managed to snatch the win with an excellent goal coming from Lewis Parker Hughes.

Brendon Bees B  1  Waterloo B  0  Saturday 14th February 2009

Another solid display against a team just below us in the league and of equal ability yet we played well throughout the game and managed to hang out to win 1-0 withe goal coming from James Worsley which also earnt him his man of the match award.

Brendon Bees A   4   Waterloo A   1
A fantastic performance from the boys this week with 2 goals from Lewis Parker Hughes and 2 from Liam Barry giving us the comfortable win.

Primary Cup Quarter Final Saturday 14th March 2009

Brendon Bees A   0   Curzon Ashton  3
Brendon Bees B   1   Curzon Ashton  1

(No report as I was away)

Brendon Bees B  1   Denton Youth  B  1  Saturday 21st March 2009

Another solid performance from the B team with good performances from all departments especially the defence earning Sam Pratt the Man of Match for both his work load and his excellent goal.

Brendon Bees A 1   Denton Youth  A  3

What started out to be good performance from the A team seemed to lose the sparkle into the second half with our only goal coming from Cian O'Brien. Man of the match went to Jack Hawksworth for his gritty performance in defence.

Brendon Bees B   5   West End B   0 Saturday 4th April 2009

An excellent end of season final game from the B team with two fantastic goals from Sam Pratt, one each from Josh Faulkner, Ben McCarthy and Hugo Booth an excellent all round performance from the whole team. Well done Ben McCarthy who deservedly got the man of match for a fine game.

Brendon Bees A  2   West End 2

I was expecting more from this team this week but it didn't come, they let me down good style and I think they all understand why. There wasn't much grit in the game this week. Goals from Lewis P Hughes and Cian O'brien meant we shared the points with the visitors. Man of the match went to Jordan who battled well to the end.
