Sat.15th Oct.11 - League
Hollingworth Reds 1-6 Brendon HT 1-3
Scorers - James(2)Zac(2) Ant, Ben
The lads were confident
for this as we beat Holligworth 7-0 only a few
weeks back, the same 11 that
played against Chadderton started & to be
honest we were lacking at the start, a looping shot from Lee over their
keeper saw Ben convert on the line, a sloppy goal conceded saw
Hollingworth level, then Zac & James put us in
control, it was a good
game full of action from both teams, but Zac was terrorising them on the
left drawing 4/5
Hollingworth players over everytime, he decided on this
occassion to cut inside & unbelievably! hit a sweet right
footed drive into
the top right hand corner, 5 mins later he then took a short corner to Anthony
whose shot flew
into the top right corner giving him his 1st ever Brendon goal
lets hope its not his last, good work by Alex on
the right saw
a neat cross converted by James, good work from MOTM Lee in midfield & with
Liam controlling the
defence, it was another good visit to Hollingworth

Sun.9th Oct.11
- County Cup
Brendon 1-7 Chadderton Park HT 1-4
Scorers - James
We weren't expecting much from this to
be honest after
sats performance, along with the fact that Chadderton
were 1 of the cups favourites & we had a bare 11
with 2 carrying knocks, but to be fair all 11 were fantastic
& gave 100%, a 5-2 scoreline would have been fairer
we did everything we should have done on the sat
(passed,1st
to the ball, challenged, didnt panic on the ball)
if we continue to put the effort it as in this game, then we
know
we have the technical ability, just need a bit of self belief,
hopefully sat was a turning point, watch this space
tho
Sat.8th Oct.11 - League
Stalybridge Celtic 3-2 Brendon HT 1-2
Scorers - James, Liam C
1st v 2nd, this was a big game & a fast improving celtic side
were a good test, but we never put
any real passing
moves together & were punished for slack defending & some poor
finishing, celtic had some
strong lads & deserved victory
the lads were told in no uncertain terms what is to be expected
from them
for future
Sat.1st Oct.11 - Challenge Cup
Brendon 1-6 Ardwick HT
1-6
Scorers - James
The halftime
scoreline said it all really, an absolute shocker, Ardwick
have undeservedly beat us on the previous 2 occasions, but
this
time there were no agumnets, we missed a penalty & hit the post
in the 2nd half, but the damage had already
been done
Sat.24th Sept.11 - League
Brendon 3-1 Denton Phoenix HT 3-1
Scorers - Liam C, James, Zac
A slow start from the lads saw us caught cold in the opening minutes
with slack marking in thepenalty
area Denton score from a corner, but
once the lads settled down, we moved into gear & an equaliser from
Zac started us up, Jelly followed & MOTM Liam C playing on the right fired
a sweet 3rd before halftime, that
was it goals wise in a tight 2nd half
Josh almost knocked himself & their centre half out with a
whole hearted
challenge, but that summed up the teams committment this season
Sat.17th Sept.11
- League
Brendon 6 - 0 Hyde Utd HT 2-0
Scorers - Josh(3) James(2) Adam
Another well earned victory with another clean sheet, well done to George,Ant,Adam,Sean &
Liam W.This was another tough game with Hyde playing some good football, a superb goal from an Adam freekick was probably
the highlight, taken from just short of the halfway line. A superb Josh hattrick was well deserved him &
Lee are working well in midfield, with Scott doing well on the right.Jelly cracked in another brace, keeping the lads
firmly at the top of the league
Sat.10th Sept.11 - League
Hollingworth Reds 0 - 7 Brendon HT 0-2
Scorers - Zac(2) James(2) Reggie,Alex,Liam C
Played on a nice wide pitch, suited us down to the ground, we had a quite a few chances in the 1st
half but play was pretty even, 2 well taken goals by Jelly put us 2 up at halftime & too be honest
if Hollingworth
had pulled 1 back after halftime it might have been a different story, but Zac put us
3 up & hollingworths heads
went down, a couple of brillaint crosses from Alex saw Reg & Liam C
add to the scoreline with Zac adding a 6th &
Alex netting a seventh, a well earned victory was
enjoyed by all of us
Sat.3rd
Sept.11 - League
Brendon 2 - 1 Heyside HT 0-0
Scorers - Zac, Alex
Slow start to the season, 1st half was pretty even with Heyside edging it straight after the break Zac
hit a sweet left footer giving the keeper no chance then an excellent ball over saw the defender bring it down with
his hand, the ref red carded the lad which was a bit harsh, but as we have been told by referees its letter of the law, we
grabbed another quickly thro debutant Alex, but 10 man Heyside pulled one back to make it a tense last 5 mins, overall we
deserved the victory but it was a wake up call for us that there are some good teams in this division
